How critical is the temperature in an anodizing tank?

In an anodized tank the temperature must be maintained within the specified parameters.

It is necessary to install enough cooling to ensure that the temperature of the tank does not vary more than a couple of degrees during anodizing.

The following formula can be used to determine the heat load generated by the rectifier:

Amps × volts × 3.412 = btu / hr

In hard coat applications, a mixture of water with glycol is used as a refrigerant since in this process the operating temperature of the bath is lower.

What type of cathodes do we use?

Aluminum and / or titanium which are the most recommended since they have a better shelf life, better corrosion resistance against environmental agents.

How do we cool the solutions in an anodization?

The cooling of the solutions in an anodization is usually achieved by water coolers that circulate the cooled water from a reservoir to a dip conduit to the tank or to an external heat exchanger.

What types of anodizing rectifiers do we use?

In our company we use the DC rectifiers appropriate for the conventional anodizing range of 18 to 24 V.

The current output is 12 to 24 asf in hard coat applications as required up to 75 V at 24–40 asf is the one we commonly use.

What is anodizing?

The anodizing process consists in increasing the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of a metal part using various materials and techniques.

This process is very frequently used to protect aluminum and / or titanium in boats from abrasion and corrosion, in the same way it allows to use colors in a wide variety of tones.

What can be anodized?

All surfaces or metal objects that are made of aluminum and / or titanium.

These surfaces are suitable for being subjected to the anodizing process since they can accept this process in an effective way.
